Happy Thanksgiving! We celebrated the whole month by making these lovely turkeys! First, we paper-machieted over a balloon. Then we painted eye-balls and finished it off by gluing on tissue paper and foam feathers, feet and beak. It was a truely colorful Thanksgiving. (The kids actually lost interest in gluing on the tissue paper squares, so Rosana Fleming and I worked on them Wednesday nights after the kids were in bed several weeks in a row, and unfortunately, they all still had bald spots for Thanksgiving.)We went over to the Flemings' house. We went in on a turkey, so we had an alllmost complete
traditional meal (only you can't find sweet potatoes here). They have a tradition of putting a picture of a turkey body/head on the wall and every day for the month they all add a feather with something they're thankful for. We got to add a feather, too. There is so much to be thankful for, I could have sat there all day adding feathers.
